    Between Prayers in Adana

    Sabancı Merkez Camii is an impressive bit of architecture. The largest mosque in Turkey, this holy building is hundreds of miles away from Istanbul in the southern Anatolian city of Adana. Since prayers are done on the carpeted floor the absence of pews or furniture make the already large space feel infinite. Three people in a room that holds 28,500.
